ALSO, I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE LEGALITY OF THE ITEMIZED EXPENSE FEE ALTOGETHER.
THE VOTERS APPROVED THIS BOND IN NOVEMBER OF 23.
THE BOND IS SUPPOSED TO BE PAID FOR THROUGH THE COUNTYWIDE PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS.
HOWEVER, IN ADDITION TO THE $67,000 USE FEE, THERE'S ALSO AN EXPANSION FEE FOR THE CITY OF PRINCETON TAXPAYERS OF $9,300, ACCORDING TO THE MEMO.
SO I GUESS MY CONCERN IS, WOULD THIS BE CONSIDERED AS DOUBLE DIPPING? AND IF SO, ISN'T THAT ILLEGAL? THE BEST SOLUTION IN THE SHORT TERM IS TO CREATE A CITY ANIMAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT WITH A TEMPORARY SHELTER.

THIS WILL GIVE THE ANIMALS THE BEST CHANCE TO BE ADOPTED BEFORE THEY ARE EUTHANIZED.THERE IS ALSO A LONG TERM SOLUTION, BUT THAT WILL HAVE TO BE FOR ANOTHER TIME.
THE LAST NUMBERS WE HAVE SEEN FROM THE SHELTER CAPACITY WAS HOVERING AROUND 200%.
AT THAT CAPACITY, THE ANIMALS GET EUTHANIZED VERY QUICKLY.
I HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN A EUTHANASIA LIST FOR THE COUNTY.
IT IS VERY SIZABLE AND DEPRESSING.

IF WE NEED AN EXPERT AT THAT QUALITY, WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONTRACT ON A PROJECT BASIS AND IF THE WORKLOAD IS SUCH FOR THAT FOR DEPUTY MANAGER TYPE WORK, WE SHOULD BE HIRING A DEPUTY MANAGER AT DEPUTY MANAGER PAY. SO WE BROUGHT IN MR. MASHBURN AND MRS. COOK AND THOSE PAY SCALES ARE HIGH.
THEY ARE OUT OF LINE FOR CITIES OF SIMILAR SIZE.

IF WE TOOK HIS RATE, WHICH LAST TIME WAS FOR 70 HOURS, AND WE PLUSSED THAT UP TO FOR TO A FULL 80 HOUR OR 40 HOUR WEEK. HIS HIS ANNUAL PAY WOULD BE $464,000.

AND IT'S OUR WAY OF GROWING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS AND THEN THE YOUTH BUILD IS A FEDERAL PROGRAM THAT WE CAN USE.
IT'S GOING TO BE TAKING LOOKING AT PEOPLE WHO ARE AT LOW INCOME, HAVE MAYBE DROPPED OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL AND GIVING THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO INTERN WITH DIFFERENT BUSINESSES LIKE CONSTRUCTION, AND THEY'LL GET TO BE APPRENTICES AND SO I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GREAT PROGRAM FOR US TO LOOK MORE INTO AND THEN MY LAST ONE WAS THAT TML IS OFFERING A BOOT CAMP FOR FINANCES, AND I THINK THAT WOULD BE VERY BENEFICIAL FOR OUR CITY.
SINCE WE'VE HAD SUCH A CHANGEOVER IN LEADERSHIP TO LOOK INTO IT, THEY GIVE US A PERSON TO COME BACK.
