THE CDC STARTED A PUBLIC SAFETY SCHOLARSHIP IN THE NAME OF OF OFFICER DOMINGUEZ, WHO PASSED AWAY WHILE SHE WAS WORKING WITH PD, AND THE THOUGHT BEING TO SEED A SCHOLARSHIP TO BUILD A PIPELINE, BECAUSE RPD IS ABOUT TO HAVE TO GROW EXPONENTIALLY OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS. BECAUSE THE CDC SEEDED IT WITH $50,000, THE COLLEGE HONORED US BY NAMING A TRAINING ROOM AFTER OFFICER DOMINGUEZ FOR FIVE YEARS. AND IF WE CONTINUE OUR INVOLVEMENT, THEY WILL PROBABLY CONTINUE THE NAMING RIGHTS. ANYWAY, IT WAS A PRETTY NEAT EVENT. AND I SAY THAT NOT FOR THE NAMING RIGHTS, BUT WE'VE GOT FINALLY SOME THINGS. ONE IS FROM THE CORE, AND THEY'VE ALREADY TOLD US GOOD LUCK. THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. THE OTHER WAY IS TO GO TO THE COUNTY AND TRY TO DIG THROUGH ALL THEIR RECORDS. AND SO, AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, WITH 10,000 ACRES, THAT'S A LOT OF RECORDS. AND SO WE MAY BE ABLE TO TALK GRANT INTO ALLOWING US TO DO THE ORIGINAL ANNEXATION OR THE INITIAL ANNEXATION USING ALL THE GIS, GIS QUADRANTS THAT WE HAVE. AND THEN IF IT IS QUESTIONED, THEN WE'LL HAVE TO GO BACK AND LOOK INTO THE LEGALS. THE ONLY OTHER THING ON THE WRITTEN REPORT BEFORE WE GET TO SALES TAX IS A COMMUNITY CENTER IS OPEN. THE PARKS DEPARTMENT IS SCHEDULING THAT IF ANYBODY NEEDS TO RESERVE IT OR RENT IT, THEY CAN DO SO TO THE SALES TAX. REALLY NOT BAD NEWS LIKE IT LOOKS. AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE PREVIOUS YEAR, THEY MUST HAVE HAD A WHAT WE CALL AN AUDIT RECEIPT THAT MONTH BECAUSE IT WAS IT WAS 39% BIGGER THAN THE PREVIOUS YEAR IN THAT MONTH. AND IT WILL SMOOTH OUT OVER TIME. SO I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE 4% WHATSOEVER, BUT I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT IT. HEY, GRANT. IF YOU WILL TURN IN YOUR PACKET TO THE FINANCIALS.
